Saving Project...

Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Gimli, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

In order to solidify the existing fasteners, create an airtight surface and ensure long-term waterproofing of the structure, the Rural Municipality of Gimli is considering upgrading the existing roof insulation and the existing waterproofing system, which presently is the existing metal roof panel. Based on approximately 45,000 sq. ft. of roof area the RM is considering going with the application of sprayed in place urethane foam, completed with a monolithic waterproof highly reflective coating. An alternate to the sprayed in place urethane foam repair is the same way as the repair application that was done to the north end of the hockey rink, which is considered the standard type of repair when it comes to this type of roof design. See enclosed drawing of the proposed two roof upgrade systems. An alternate to the repair, is a total removal and replacement of the metal panels inside and outside, with new insulation meeting current Efficiency Manitoba standards. In addition to the roof repairs/replacement, the existing eavestroughing is to be removed and replaced with a new 5" prefinished continuous gutter system. The Contractor offers to substantially perform the work by: September 30, 2024. The RM reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com .
