Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified School District Camera Project Question Deadline: June 7, 2024 @ 11:00 am PST All questions concerning this project shall be requested through the project website All requests for information shall be submitted not less than five (5) days prior to the opening of the bid. Any questions submitted after the question deadline will not be answered. All questions will be submitted through the project website. Bidders shall submit only one question submittal. Al questions shall be included in the single submittal. DO NOT submit single question submittals. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the bidders response being negatively scored or rejected completely for failure to comply with the requirements of the RFP. This project is anticipated to start after June 1, 2024, and is anticipated to have a duration of 120 days. All work shall be completed per the project schedule but no later than the project finish date. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00/day are included in this contract. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. Each bid package will be awarded separately and independent of one another. The OWNER may, at their option, choose to award the projects to one contractor or any combination of contractors. A BID BOND shall be required and shall be supplied with the CONTRACTOR'S bid on the day of the bid. All bids shall be presented under sealed cover and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: cash, a cashier's check, certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the trustees. The security shall be in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the amount bid. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed with it. The OWNER has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute this contract. These rates are on file at the SCHOOL DISTRICT office located at location. Copies may be obtained upon request. A copy of these rates shall be posted at each jobsite. The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight (8) hours. The rate for holiday and overtime work shall be at least time and one-half. Contractor's License. If, at the time of the bid opening date and time, bidder is not properly licensed to perform the Project in accordance with Division 3, Chapter 9, of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California and the Notice Calling for Bids, such bid will be rejected as non-responsive. Pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15, no payment shall be made for work or materials under the contract unless and until the Registrar of Contractors verifies to the OWNER that the bidder was properly licensed at the time the bid was submitted. Any bidder not so licensed is subject to penalties under the law and the contract will be considered void. If the license classification specified hereinafter is that of a "specialty contractor" as defined in Section 7058 of the California Business and Professions Code, the specialty contractor awarded the contract for this work shall construct a majority of the work, in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Section 7059 A Payment Bond and Performance Bond for contracts over $25,000.00 WILL BE required prior to the execution of the contract. The Payment and Performance Bond shall be in the form called for in the contract documents. Payment Bond and Performance Bond shall be provided upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Performance and Payment bonds shall be supplied prior to the beginning of construction. A Certificate of Insurance shall be required as well before work can begin. Bid Bond shall be required for this project. If awarded the contract, will execute the Agreement within five (5) working days after award of the contract, and will furnish prior to the execution of the Agreement, on the prescribed forms, a satisfactory Faithful Performance Bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price and separate Payment (labor and material) Bond in an amount not less than One-Hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price in accordance with the Project documents and Civil Code Section 3248, and furnish certificates evidencing that the required insurance is in effect in the amounts set forth in the General Conditions. The Faithful Performance Bond shall remain in full force and effect through the guarantee period as specified in the General Conditions. In case of refusal or failure to timely execute the Agreement and furnish the required bonds and insurance certificates, the bid security shall be forfeited to the OWNER. If the Bidder elects to furnish a bid bond as its Bid Security, the Bidder shall use the bid bond form included herein. The Bid Form, the Bid Bond, the Designation of Subcontractors Form, all Information Required of Bidder or prequalification forms, Workers Compensation Certificate, Drug Free Workplace Certification, Non-Collusion Affidavit, the Agreement, and all Guarantees must be signed in the name of the bidder and must bear the signature of the person or persons duly authorized to sign these documents. The following Items are included in the Contractor's Scope of Work for this Project: 1. Contractor to provide and install new category 6 cabling to each location shown on drawings. 2. Contractor to provide and install two (2) new category 6 patch cables for each cable location shown on drawings. 3. Contractor to provide and install all new storage devices per specifications. 4. Contractor to provide and install all new cameras to each location shown on drawings per specifications. 5. Contractor to provide and install all necessary site conduit and pathway systems including trenching, boring, conduit, seal-tight, stubs, pull boxes, termination boxes, J-hooks, wire hangers, surface mount raceway, and surface mount boxes required for the new cable. 6. Contractor to paint all new above ground conduit and above ground boxes per specification. The contractor will provide all the paint labor and materials to cover the above ground pathway system. 7. Contractor to provide testing, labeling, and warranties as specified in the construction documents. 8. Contractor to coordinate with district before removing any existing coax cable, existing backbone fiber cable, and existing backbone copper cable to free space in existing pathways for new cabling. 9. Contractor to patch in all newly installed fiber optic cabling to appropriate switch ports.
