Site work and paving for a road / highway in Greenville, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The City of Greenville will receive sealed bids to construct 1,027 feet of 10-foot wide connector trails in two locations. The project will include approximately 1.1 acres of tree removal; clearing and grubbing; 695 cyd of excavation; 1254 cyd of embankment with on-site and City supplied material; 343 tons of aggregate base; 127 tons of HMA; and 2,228 syd of topsoil and seeding. This Project is locally funded. This Advertisement, the Project Manual and Project Plans have been posted in the following locations and may be downloaded from the same: Greenville City Hall, 411 S. Lafayette, Greenville, Michigan 48838 All questions from BIDDERS, regarding any part of the Plans or Project Manual, shall be directed in writing to: Doug Hinken, P.E., City Engineer City of Greenville 411 S. Lafayette Street Greenville, MI 48838 Or by email at: dhinken@greenvillemi.org. A BID BOND, in the amount of not less than 5% of the bid amount shall be included with the BID. It shall be supplied through a company that is licensed to do business in the State of Michigan on a form that is consistent with the industry standard of practice. The BID BOND shall be payable to the City of Greenville in the event that the BIDDER fails to execute the Contract according to these Project Manual. Attorneys-in-fact who sign BID BONDS or payment BONDS and performance BONDS must file with each BOND a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. CONTRACT TIME: Once started, the work shall progress daily without significant idle time. The following is an expected schedule for the Work: Recommendation of Award: June 4, 2024 Earliest date to begin construction: July 8, 2024 Complete construction by: October 31, 2024 LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The CONTRACTOR shall complete the Work by the date given in the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, or extend the date through a written extension of time for reasonable cause. If the Work has not reached Substantial Completion, defined as completion of all pay items, by the CONTRACT date, the CONTRACTOR shall pay the OWNER liquidated damages in the amount of $900 per calendar day to compensate the OWNER for lost opportunity of the use of the Project. PERMITS: The CITY OF GREENVILLE will provide a Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) permit for both sites. The successful bidder will be required to furnish PAYMENT and PERFORMANCE BONDS in the amount of the CONTRACT prior to 14 days before beginning the Project. The Bonds shall remain in effect until the final acceptance of the project. BONDS shall be supplied through a company that is licensed to do business in the State of Michigan on a form that is consistent with the industry standard of practice. The Scope of Work for this Project includes removing trees, stumps and brush, along a prescribed route and within existing right of way or easements; create the proposed profile through cutting and filling, using City supplied material for excess embankment; adding a 6-inch thick aggregate base; paving with a 10-foot wide, 2-inch thick HMA mat; and restoring disturbed areas with topsoil and hydroseed, in two locations. The first location is approximately 227 feet in length to connect the Gibson / Clay Street intersection with the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail. This is located in City-owned right of way. The second location is approximately 800 feet in length to connect Elm Street with the Fred Meijer Flat River Valley Rail Trail. This section is located in easements.
