The Berrien County Building and Grounds Department is seeking bids for the Sheriff's Department fences, gates & electrical upgrades. The County of Berrien (Owner) requests Bid Proposals for the BC Sheriff's Dept - Fences, Gates, & Electrical Upgrades project at 2100 E Empire Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022 Please note that if you have previously filled out the Affidavit of Compliance for the year 2024 it is not necessary to send another one. No electronic or emailed submissions will be accepted. No Bid Proposals will be received after the date and time. Question Deadline 06/10/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Questions Will Be Accepted in Writing to Christian Bacchiocchi, Project Manager, Owner's Representative, Bacchiocchi Construction Services, Inc. (E-mail Christian@bacchiocchicsi.com). A Written Response Will Be Included in an Addendum to Be Prepared by the Owner's Representative and Sent to All Bidders via E-mail. The Work Under This Contract Shall Commence Within 90 Calendar Days After Receiving Notice of Award of Contract From the Owner, and Must Be Completed Within 30 Calendar Days After the Work Has Begun. A Certified Check or Bank Draft Drawn on a Solvent Bank in the State of Michigan Payable Without Condition to Berrien County of Michigan or a Satisfactory Bid Bond Executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company, in an Amount Equal to 5 Percent (5%) of the Bid Shall Be Submitted With Each Bid Over $100,000. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required to Furnish a Satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment bond in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price, for all projects over $50,000. WORK PACKAGE #1 - FENCE & GATE - The WORK of this Agreementshall include, but not be limited to, all labor, materials, escalation, equipment, tools, plant, supplies, samples, shop DRAWINGS, layout, transportation, parking, supervision, scaffolding, insurance, taxes, compliance with all agencies (City, County, State, and Federal - as they may be required), all other services and facilities, and other things necessary for the performance of the FENCE & GATE WORK as shown, detailed, and/or implied by the following documents and as defined herein. GENERAL 1. It is understood that the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, as they relate to the "work", are not complete and detailed in all respects. However, the WORK of this agreement includes all work indicated, detailed, implied, inferable and necessary for complete, fully functioning system, product or installation in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), and the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 2. CONTRACTOR shall obtain all Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or other required permits, at their own expense. 3. CONTRACTOR shall perform daily clean-up of own work, including continuous cleanup of own work to dumpsters. 4. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for supplying dumpsters and off-site removal of debris. 5. Public restrooms are NOT available at the BC Sheriff's Dept, and the CONTRACTOR is responsible for supplying portable toilets for their employees. 6. CONTRACTOR shall include all layout and surveying as required to install the WORK from established benchmarks - if indicated - on the DRAWINGS and provided by the PROJECT MANAGER. 7. The WORK under this contract shall commence within 90 calendar days after receiving Notice of Award of Contract from the OWNER, and must be completed within 30 calendar days after the work has begun. WORK PACKAGE #2 - ELECTRICAL Related Requirements: 1. The WORK of this Agreementshall include, but not be limited to, all labor, materials, escalation, equipment, tools, plant, supplies, samples, shop DRAWINGS, layout, transportation, parking, supervision, scaffolding, insurance, taxes, compliance with all agencies (City, County, State, and Federal - as they may be required), all other services and facilities, and other things necessary for the performance of the ELECTRICAL WORK as shown, detailed, and/or implied by the following documents and as defined herein.
