That Sealed Bids Will Be Received for "Screen and Screenings Compactor Replacement at Upper Skokie Pumping Station (Ps-5) and Cary Avenue Pumping Station (Ps-8)". The Work Generally Consists of: Removal and Installation of New Fine Bar Screen, Screenings Washer and Compactors, New Air Monitoring System and Piping Rehabilitation Work. Work Also Includes Sitework, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical and Instrumentation and Control. All Questions About the Meaning or Intent of the Bidding Documents Are to Be Directed to the Owner/engineer: North Shore Water Reclamation District, Po Box 750, 14770 W. Wm. Koepsel Drive, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. (847-623-6060). Legal Provisions: Contractors and Subcontractors Shall Conform to the "Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act", (820 Ilcs 265/1 Et Seq.); and With the Provisions of 29 Cfr Part 470. Wage Rates: This Contract Calls for the Construction of a "Public Work," Within the Meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 Ilcs 130/.01 Et Seq. ("the Act"). The Act Requires Contractors and Subcontractors to Pay Laborers, Workers and Mechanics Performing Services on Public Works Projects No Less Than the "Prevailing Rate of Wages" (Hourly Cash Wages Plus Fringe Benefits) in the County Where the Work is Performed. The Prevailing Rate of Wage Are Revised by the Illinois Department of Labor and Are Available on Their Official Website at: online. If the Department of Labor Revises the Prevailing Rate of Hourly Wages to Be Paid by the Public Body, the Revised Rate as Provided by the Public Body Shall Apply to This Contract. All Contractors and Subcontractors Rendering Services Under This Contract Must Comply With All Requirements of the Act, Including but Not Limited to, All Wage, Notice and Record Keeping Duties. Bid Security: Bid Security in the Amount of Not Less Than 5% of the Bid Shall Accompany Each Bid in Accordance With the Instructions to Bidders. Contract Security: the Bidder to Whom a Contract is Awarded Shall Furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond Each in an Amount Equal to the Contract Price. Bid Rejection/acceptance: the Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, Waive Informalities in Bidding, or to Accept the Bid or Bids, Which Best Serves the Interests of the Owner. Bid Withdrawal: No Bid Shall Be Withdrawn for a Period of 120 Days After the Scheduled Opening of the Bids Without the Consent of Owner.
