Demolition, site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gurnee, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Work to Include but Not Be Limited to Site Demolition, Safety Surfacing Removal, Site Grading, Underdrainage Repair and Installation, Concrete Sidewalk Installation, Playground Equipment Installation, Sub-surface Installation and All Appurtenances Necessary to Complete the Project. Location Hunt Club Park 920 N. Hunt Club Road Gurnee, IL 60031 Bid Bond - an Amount Equal to 10% of the Bid Price in the Form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Cashier's Check Made Payable to Gurnee Park District Shall Be Submitted With Each Bid; Personal Checks Will Not Be Accepted. Performance Bond and Labor and Material Bond - the Successful Bidder Shall Be Required to Provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the Awarded Contract Price Within Ten (10) Days of Notification of the Contract Award. The Cost of the Bond is to Be Included in the Bid Proposal. The Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond Will Become a Part of the Contract. Gurnee Park District Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids and Bidders and Waive All Technicalities. All Proposals Submitted Will Be Valid for a Period of Sixty (60) Days. Gurnee Park District Reserves the Right to Award All or Any Portion of These Bids. THE ANTICIPATED DATES OF CONSTRUCTION WILL BE AUGUST 12, 2024 TO OCTOBER 14, 2024 PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL Remove and dispose of all playground equipment. The current playground is a steel structure that is installed with concrete footings. There is a large climber, a seesaw, sand play equipmen, and swing sets. All the old playground equipment will be removed and disposed of by the contractor. All concrete footings will be taken out of the playground so it does not get in the way of the new playground installation or become part of any fall zone. o GRADING TO SUBGRADE The current playground surfacing needs to be removed. This is a mixture of playground mulch, geotextile material, pea gravel and dirt mix. These materials will be removed and disposed of by the contractor. o UNDERDRAINAGE Repair of any underdrainage that is damaged during removal of playground equipment and grading to subgrade. This might include but not limited to repair or replacement of broken drain tile and fittings and installation of new drain tile and fittings to tie into existing underdrainage system. o PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION Install all playground equipment which will be purchased by the Gurnee Park District from BCI Burke (Manufacturer). Gurnee Park District to provide the Manufacturer's installation instructions when installing the equipment, see EXHIBIT D for design specifications. The contractor is to fill each footing per manufacture's specifications with ready mix concrete level to sub grade. o SUBGRADING FOR SAFETY SURFACING Compact subgrade to a height of 6-1/2 inches below the top of the existing concrete border curb. Install non-woven geotextile fabric layer on top of compacted subgrade. Install 4 inches of lightly compacted CA-6 stone on top of non-woven geotextile fabric layer. o CONCRETE INSTALLATION Install playground border curb. Please refer to the engineered plans for instructions when installing these components, see EXHIBIT E. o ADA COMPLIANT RAMP & RAILING INSTALLATION Install concrete sidewalks. Please refer to the engineered plans for instructions when installing these components, see EXHIBIT E
