Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Easton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
As of August 19, 2024, project was awarded to CMR Construction Inc, but awarded amount is not available. The County of Northampton is soliciting proposals for the services of a landscaping contractor in the completion of a meadow restoration project in accordance with this Request for Proposal (RFP). The County is partnering with Wildlands Conservancy who will be managing the project on the County's behalf. Areas of turf and grass in six parks will be converted from lawn to meadow using native seed mixes. The project is covered by secured state funding, and as such, will be subject to the provisions laid out in the attached grant contract. Proposals exceeding $25,000 should use Prevailing Wage Rates. The work will be completed over a 4-year period with successful meadow establishment to have occurred by the end of 2027. The County requests that the selected contractor be available to begin work on the project in 2024 during the growing season. The bidder shall provide a Scope of Work detailing the approach for all items listed below to demonstrate an understanding of the project tasks. The selected contractor should have experience in turf conversion, invasive species management, and meadow establishment and maintenance. To demonstrate this experience, please include examples of two similar projects with the bid documents The Northampton County Park system offers a great variety of landscapes and recreation opportunities for residents, but large sections of many parks are being maintained as turf. This requires a significant investment of time and resources and does little to improve water quality or provide wildlife habitat. The County will convert approximately 18 acres of lawn into native meadow and grassland habitat. Work will be conducted at six Northampton County Parks to add color and landscape diversity for visitors, ample habitat for native pollinators, and floodwater absorption during storm events. Wildlands Conservancy will work directly with the selected contractor to determine seed mixes, discuss appropriate measures for site preparation, and determine methods for post-seeding establishment. The County and Wildlands have been working for the past several years to naturalize other areas in many of these parks by planting trees along streams and establishing smaller pollinator areas. This project will expand these efforts by naturalizing areas on a larger scale to increase habitat areas and reduce maintenance costs. The areas planned for restoration have been mapped by Wildlands and the County but will be field delineated with staff and the selected contractor. These areas are made up of either grass stormwater basins or designated areas currently being mowed. Question Deadline 06/20/2024 Follow up questions due to WC/NorCo
