Site work and asbestos abatement for a mixed-use development in North Waltham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a laboratory facility; for asbestos abatement for a laboratory facility; municipal facility; and municipal facility.

As of September 9, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The City of Waltham, Massachusetts invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Abatement of 240 Beaver Street: Administration Building, Corn Lab Building and Greenhouses. The work consists of the abatement of all components as listed in the specifications. For a more complete description of the project go to the technical specification sections. Question Deadline 06/13/2024 at 12:00 PM ET Questions are to be sent via email only to cphilpott@city.waltham.ma.us Each general bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Waltham in the amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid To be given consideration, all general bids and all sub-bids must be accompanied by a copy of the Bidder's DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility (DCPO Form CQ7) and a DCAMM Update Statement (DCPO Form CQ3). The General Bidder must be certified eligible in the Abatement category and the filed sub-bidders must be certified in their respective categories. Bids shall be made on the basis of the Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws, a copy of which is found electronically. Bidders' selection procedures and contract award shall be in conformity with the rules of Commonwealth of Massachusetts statute Chapter 149 Performance and Labor and Materials payment bonds each in the full amount of the contract price will be required from the successful bidder. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all general bids, if it be in the public interest to do so, and to reject any sub-bid on any sub-trade if it determines that such sub-bid does not represent the sub-bid of a person competent to perform the work as specified or that less than three such sub-bids were received and that the prices are not reasonable for acceptance without further competition. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance, naming the City of Waltham as an Additional Named Insured with a waiver of subrogation, for General Liability and Vehicle Liability in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 in the aggregate and Worker's Compensation Insurance as prescribed by law. In accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts the undersigned certifies that all employees to be employed at the worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA that is at least 10 hours in duration at the time the employee begins work and shall furnish documentation of successful completion of said course with the first certified payroll report for each employee. All contract made by any department, board or commission where the amount involved is two thousand dollars ($2,000) or more shall be in writing, and no such contract shall be deemed to have been made or executed until the approval of the Mayor is affixed thereto. Any construction contract shall, and all other contracts may, where the contract exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) be required to be accompanied by a bond with sureties satisfactory to the Mayor. The work of the Contract shall be Substantially Complete in 45 calendar days after the date of the Notice-to-Proceed. Final completion is to be achieved 60 calendar days after the date of the Notice-to-Proceed.
