The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for the supplying a 4000A 277/480V electrical switchboard for the new Fort River School Project, 70 South East Street, Amherst, MA 01002. Bidders must have at least five (5) years of experience and a proven track record of providing and/or installing similarly sized electrical switchboard equipment on similar projects. All questions shall be e-mailed to Simone Cristofori at cristoforis@amherstma.gov. The Fort River Elementary School project will replace the existing Fort River School with a new 3-story, 105,750 GSF building. To assist in reducing potential delays in the construction of the new school, the Town is seeking to prepurchase the electrical switchboard for the project to furnish to the contractor responsible for completion of the project. Technical specifications for the new switch board are provided in Part 5. of this IFB. Bidder selection, procedures and contract awards shall be in conformity with M.G.L. Chapter 30B. One (1) contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible contractor offering the lowest price for providing the equipment described in the Technical Specifications. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.
