The Town of Amherst, as Awarding Authority, invites SEALED BIDS for various types of hot mix asphalt paving material. Town personnel will pick up the asphalt from the vendor's location. Vendor must have a hot mix asphalt plant within a 20-mile radius of the Town yard at 586 South Pleasant St., Amherst. All questions shall be emailed to Simone Cristofori at cristoforis@amherstma.gov. The Town of Amherst will use the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Highway Division procedure for price adjustment for hot mix asphalt mixtures as outlined in Document 00811 "Special Provisions, Monthly Price Adjustment for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Mixtures, English and Metric Units," revised 07/08/2016. The base price for liquid asphalt on this project is six hundred sixty-five dollars per ton ($665.00/ton) based on the May 2024 price. The Town will award one (1) contract to the lowest total price bid for all items listed in Part 3, section 3.2 for a one (1) -year term.
