DESCRIPTION OF WORK. The WORK covered in the Contract Documents generally includes reconstruction of Poplar Avenue from Mendenhall Boulevard to Dogwood Lane. WORK will include replacement of the ductile iron water main and services with high-density polyethylene, replacement of the 8-inch asbestos cement sanitary sewer main and services with polyvinyl chloride, and replacement of the corrugated metal pipe storm drain system with polyvinyl chloride. WORK will also include replacement of the roadway subbase to a depth of 12-inches, resurfacing with asphalt cement pavement, and the addition of a curb and gutter and sidewalk along the north side and a valley gutter along the south side of the roadway. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE RANGE: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000 COMPLETION OF WORK. Contractor may begin the work upon receipt of the NTP. Work must be completed within 45 days of commencement, or September 1st , 2025, whichever is sooner Question Deadline Oct 22, 2024 at 4:30 PM BID SECURITY. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond, in the amount of 5% percent of the Bid, payable to the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is provided as prescribed in Section 00100, Article 12, at the time of bid. CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, prior to submitting a Bid, and a current Alaska Business License prior to award. BID TO REMAIN OPEN. The Bidder shall guarantee the Bid for a period of 120 Days from the date of Bid opening. Any component of the Bid including additive alternates may be awarded anytime during the 120 Days. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in a Bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as it may best serve the interests of the OWNER.
