The work is being done in 40 units townhouse complex in Flin Flon, MB. Work site location will be occupied during construction. The work to be performed under the contract shall see the replacement of 40 existing propane-fired, forced air residential furnaces of various sizes and configurations with new electric furnaces and upgrade of electrical service, new feeder to new 100-amp sub-panel for furnaces located within the seven townhouse buildings in the Town of Flin Flon, MB. The seven townhouses consist of four buildings with 7 units, and three buildings with 4 units. 1.1 Contractor shall obtain and pay for all necessary permits in advance of the project start date with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). 1.2 All work to be approved by Manitoba Hydro prior to starting. 1.3 The new furnaces shall be installed as per the manufacturer's installation instructions, in full compliance with the latest editions of both the National/ Provincial Building and Electrical Codes, subject to the local AHJ, and acceptance by the project manager that will conduct bi-weekly acceptance reviews of replacement furnaces. 1.4 Each building will require a new feeder wire and panel/breakers to feed the new 20kw furnace. General contractor to coordinate with Manitoba Hydro any new service required to accommodate the new furnaces and apply for the service agreement and permit. 1.5 New wall mounted heat/fan (auto/on) thermostat complete with wiring from current/(best) location to the low voltage wiring of the furnace. 1.6 Cap all existing propane services and remove/dispose of propane furnaces, all associated piping, and unnecessary items. 1.7 The successful contractor will be expected to have completed mobilization of all forces and material/equipment to the site within 3 weeks of receipt of the purchase order and remain on site to maintain a steady progress of completed installations of approximately four to eight units being replaced on a weekly basis for duration of 5 to ten weeks. 1.8 The contractor shall work closely with the project manager and local Manitoba Housing tenant management/operations staff in scheduling coordination of tenant notices of entry to coincide with the furnace replacements.
