Renovation of a municipal facility in Redding, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

This project includes the removal of existing carpet throughout the staff occupied space and installing Mannington (Retroscope 83638) Tile Carpeting. In addition, the existing wall base shall be removed and replaced with new material, and transition strips shall be installed in locations where carpet tiles are placed against dissimilar flooring. The total area of flooring to be replaced is approximately 53,500 square feet (including the base bid and all three additive alternates), however, this does not include the required extra stock. The work has been divided into a Base Bid (approximately 26,455 square feet which includes the extra stock square footage) and three Additive Alternates to accommodate the overall budget of the project. The division of work and each Additive Alternate is clarified on the plans. The Engineer's Estimate for the Base Bid is $238,095. There are 60 working days. An additional 20 working days will be added for Additive Alternate 1, an additional 45 working days for Additive Alternate 2, and an additional 5 working days for Additive Alternate 3. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-15 license at the time bid is opened. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Failure to register prior to bid opening shall cause the bid to be deemed nonresponsive and no exception will be allowed including the renewal exception allowed in Labor Code Section 1725.5(c). No contractor or subcontractor may work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Any such explanations or interpretations will be made in the form of Addenda to the documents and will be furnished to all listed planholders. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt via email at constructionbids@cityofredding.org of all Addenda posted on the City website prior to bid opening Each bid shall be made in accordance with the special provisions and proposal requirements thereof and no bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the Contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the special provisions. Such Guarantee shall be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Sections 7000 et seq. and regulations adopted by the Contractors' State Licensing Board, as amended. The envelope enclosing the proposal shall have stated thereon, "Redding City Hall Occupied Office Carpet Replacement Project, (Bid No. 5494)." The City Council of the City of Redding reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to make that award which is in the best interest of the City
