The City of Chino Hills ("City") is requesting proposals from contractors to provide full replacement of the walkway lighting system and the related components at Veterans Park located at 14877 Eucalyptus Avenue, Chino Hills, CA 91709. Electrical repairs will include the replacement of walkway light poles, foundations, and underground electrical. Engineer's Estimate - $160,000 Questions will be received until Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 5:00 pm and should only be directed to Alexis DalPont by email at adalpont@chinohills.org. Responses to questions will be posted by Thursday, July 18, 2024, on the City's website. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class B or Class C-10 Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The Work comprises, but is not limited to: Full replacement of the walkway lighting system and the related components at Veterans Park in the City of Chino Hills. Electrical repairs will include the replacement of walkway light poles, foundations, and underground electrical. The Contractor is required to complete a Bidder's Qualification Form & Contractor's Project Listing (included in Section 1.3 Bid Documents) certifying that they have met the minimum acceptable experience for performing the necessary work. Said work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 30 working days, from the dated specified in a written Notice to Proceed from the City. Per Section VI of City of Chino Hills Agreement, the City and Contractor agree that the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day is a reasonable sum to assess as damages to City by reason of the failure of Contractor to complete the Work within the time specified. (a) The City of Chino Hills reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, as it may best serve the interest of the City of Chino Hills. (b) As a condition of award, the successful bidder will be required to submit payment and performance bonds and insurance. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten (10) percent of the total bid price, payable to the City of Chino Hills. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class B or Class C-10 Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed.
