Renovation of an educational facility in Walnut, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 38,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
Work includes surface preparation, surface repair, caulking, sealants, sanding, patching and application of the paint coating to the substrates and systems of Bldg. 80 and associated structures to the building Building 80 houses the Agricultural Sciences classes for Mt. San Antonio College. Constructed in 2011, the 2 story building exterior is approximately 38,000 SQF. The work consists of all preparation for pressure cleaning, caulking/sealing of all cracks, sanding, painting and finishing the exterior surfaces of the building. Exterior painting of building including, but not limited to, all walls, soffits, columns, gutters, downspouts, door and frames, parapet walls, trim, railings, and steel bars where applicable. Without restricting the volume or generality of the above, the work to be performed shall include, but is not limited to the following: o Full power wash of the entire building in preparation for paint. All surfaces to be painted must be pressure washed. The exterior surfaces shall be pressure washed to ensure the removal of dirt, mold, mildew, peeling paint chalk/or any other foreign material. Power wash to include any porch and/or entryways if applicable. o Remove all signs for proper painting. Replace signs when the painting is completed. o Caulk/Seal all gaps/holes/ and/or cracks in the building. Stucco any concrete holes. Sand metal framing o Apply one (1) coat of primer paint, per manufacturer specification, to all surfaces that will be painted. o Sand where necessary to ensure proper adhesion of paint to the surface to ensure a smooth appearance o Apply two (2) coats or per manufacturer specification of Sherwin Williams exterior paint to all walls and soffits. o Apply two (2) coats or per manufacturer specification of Sherwin William exterior paint to all trims. o Apply two (2) coats or per manufacturer specification of Sherwin Williams paint to all doors and railings. Recommendation for Award Date: July 26, 2024. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of: (a) cash, (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District or (c) a Bid Bond, in the form and content attached hereto in the amount of not less than Ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, inclusive of any additive Alternate Bid Item(s) and shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will execute the agreement within Five (5) working days after notice of award of the contract. The Agreement, which the successful Bidder, as Contractor, will be required to execute along with the forms and amounts of the Labor and Material Payment Bond, Performance Bond and other documents and instruments which will be required to be furnished are included in the Contract Documents and shall be carefully examined by the Bidder. The required number of executed copies of the Agreement and the form and content of the Performance Bond and the Labor and Material Payment Bond and other documents or instruments required at the time of execution of the Agreement are specified in the Supplemental Conditions.
