Halesite Fire District plans to repair its existing roof overhang located at 1 New York Ave in Halesite, NY 11743. All bids must be accompanied by either a) a certified check payable to the "Halesite Fire District" in the amount of 5% of the bid price, or b) a bond with sufficient sureties to be approved by the "Halesite Fire District" in the amount of 5% of the bid price. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract in accordance with the bid and will furnish a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt completion of the work specified in the contract. If the bidder neglects or refuses to execute the contract and furnish the bonds, the deposit of 5% of the bid price shall be forfeited and retained by the Halesite Fire District as liquidated damages or, in the case of a bid bond, the Halesite Fire District shall enforce payment of the bond for its benefit. The bond must be on the outside of the bid envelope when submitting bid. No offshore bonds will be accepted. Bonding company shall be 'A' rated or better. Performance, payment, and warranty bonds on the forms within the Specifications Book for the full amount of the contract are required and shall be included in the bid price. All Contractors shall have Admitted insurance with an 'A -'rating or better. The Halesite Fire District reserves the right to waive any informalities in, to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder or to advertise anew if in the judgment of the Halesite Fire District it is in their best interests to do so. No bidder shall withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the formal opening thereof. The time period for FINAL COMPLETION of this contract shall be seventy-five (75) calendar days from the start of construction, for all work being done simultaneously with base contract from the date of Notice to Proceed by the Architect. All Bid RFIS must be submitted to Frank G Relf Architect, P.C. no later than 12pm on Monday July 29 th , 2024. Any RFI submitted past that date and time will not be responded to.
