The Work consists of replacement of water service lines in various locations in the City of Manchester DEPOSIT: 5% of bid amount WAGES: Prevailing Wages required Question Deadline 07/22/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The Work consists of replacement of lead services lines at various locations in the City of Manchester. See Attachments 1 and 2 for replacement locations. Existing curb location sheets are includes as Attachment 3. B. See Attachment 4 for Miss Dig Design Ticket responses from utilities. As noted in 1.06.A, Contractor shall notify Miss Dig three working days prior to any excavation. C. Traffic maintenance and control is considered incidental to work items except for service replacements on West Main Street. The Contractor shall complete the service replacements on West Main sequentially. D. The Owner will coordinate with home owners for entrance inside the house. The Contractor shall arrange for plumbing permits of the connection to meter. The cost of the permit and Master Plumber shall be included in the unit price for the Service Replacement (Home Side or Full Replacement) E. The Contractor shall reuse the existing corporation stop and water service connection at the existing main whenever possible. The Owner will provide an adaptor for connection of the new service. F. New services lines shall be flushed prior to connection to the existing main, curb stop, or meter. The Owner will conduct bacteriological testing of the new service lines. G. The existing service line shall be left in place if it is used as the electrical ground. The existing line shall be capped off near the basement wall. H. The Owner will perform any the necessary documentation of the service line material as may be required by EGLE.
