The work in this proposal includes Modified Urethane Pavement Markings at various locations in the City of Mattoon. Location Maps are attached. All work shall be complete by September 30th, 2024. Street Preparation The City will sweep the streets to be striped in advance of the work. All of the striping locations are ready for striping. There are no locations to coordinate with active construction projects. All pavement markings will be placed on concrete or asphalt. All of the concrete is a least a year old. The minimum pavement and air temperature shall be 50 degrees F for application. Traffle Control The Contractor shall provide traffic control for the work. The Contractor shall protect fresh pavement markings with cones until the paint has cured sufficiently to open to traffic. Performance Bond A performance bond and/or inspection period will not be required. Basis of Payment The following areas were used for the Letters & Symbols: Single Arrow = 16 sq ft Double Arrow = 27 sq ft ADA Parking Symbol = 3 sq ft Bike Symbol = 4.7 sq ft Letters & Symbols will be paid at the contract unit price, per square foot, for Modified Urethane Pavement Marking, Letters & Symbols. Pavement Marking Lines 4", 6", 12", & 24" will be paid at the contract unit price, per foot, for Modified Urethane Pavement Marking Line of the specified width. Must have 1 week notice prior to starting work. This will allow plenty of notice to the public and businesses that will be affected with parking lots and parking spaces being shut down The City of Mattoon is accepting bids for striping improvements in various locations.
