The Housing Authority of the City of Union City, State of New Jersey, will receive sealed bids for Courtyard Improvements @ Columbian Court - AMP 1 Block 11, Lot 1 / Bergenline Ave., 4th St., West St., & 3rd St. Union City, NJ 07087 Bid proposals for up to $400,000.00 must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00. Bids over $400,000.00 shall be accompanied with a negotiable bid guarantee of five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The bid guarantee may be a certified check, bank draft, payable to the Housing Authority or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and Sureties acceptable to the U.S. Government and authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bid guarantee must be made out to the Housing Authority of the City of Union City. The bid guarantee shall insure the execution of the contract and the furnishing of a method of assurance of completion by the successful bidder as required by the solicitation. The bid guarantee must be accompanied by certification from Surety Company that they will provide performance and labor bond for 100% of the contract price (see enclosed Consent of Surety Form). Failure to submit a bid guarantee with the bid shall result in the rejection of the bid. Bid guarantees submitted by unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as practicable after bid opening. Proposals must also be accompanied by the affidavits, etc., referred to in the Instruction to Bidders in the Project Manual. All Bidders, including Corporations, Partnerships and Sole Proprietorships must submit a Statement of Ownership and must be register with the Department of Labor as a Public Works Contractor as per PL1999 C238NJSA39:11-56.48 and must provide a Business Registration Certificate issued by the NJ State Division of Revenue for the prime contractor and any subcontractor they may use. Proposals must be accompanied by a project schedule.
