Description: The intent of this RFQQ is to procure hazardous wildland fuels reduction services under one contract to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire by treating approximately 105-135 acres of private and municipal forestland on the North Cle Elum Ridge. The treatment area encompasses lands on both sides of Cle Elum Airport and is a strategic fuel break in low density Wildland Urban Interface. The Airport Road Wildfire Mitigation Project is a part of a continuing effort to improve the community's resilience and disrupt the fuels continuity in, and the historic fire flow pattern of, this high-risk area. The project area is located in Kittitas County, Washington, 30 of Township 20N Range 16E. Maps of the general vicinity and specific project area are attached as Exhibit G. Work will consist of vegetation clearing, tree thinning, tree pruning, and debris disposal using chipper and/or mechanized mastication equipment. The successful contractor will be expected to provide supervision, labor, transportation, materials, equipment, and associated expenses for this fuels reduction project, while meeting all industrial fire precaution level restrictions. Hand crews will consist of an experienced foreman, laborers, a chipper, transportation, and all necessary equipment, tools and supplies. Mechanical crews will consist of mastication machines with an experienced operator, transportation, and all necessary equipment, tools, and supplies to perform the tasks.
