Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Martinez, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of October 3,2024, project was awarded to Rapid Grading Services , awarded amount is $940,391.50.** Description of Work: Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision and perform all work necessary for and incidental to the construction of the project known as the ALHAMBRA AVENUE DOWNTOWN PAVING PROJECT. The work includes but is not limited to providing traffic control, adjusting utility frames and covers, grinding and removing existing asphalt concrete pavement, constructing asphalt concrete "dig-out" repairs, crack sealing, removing concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway, constructing new concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and ramps, constructing hot mix asphalt concrete inlays and conforms, and replacement of 6" hot mix asphalt pavement, removing and installing roadside signs, and removing and installing thermoplastic pavement stripes and pavement markings. The Engineer's Estimate for the Total Base Bid is $1,160,000.00 The Base Bid work is to be completed in 30 working days. Base Bid plus Additive Alternate A is to be completed in 45 working days. There is no pre-bid meeting for this work; however, contractors are strongly encouraged to visit all sites in advance of the bid to familiarize themselves with the nature of the existing conditions. A certified check or bid bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the proposal shall be submitted with each bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will fulfill the terms of the bid. The City of Martinez reserves the right to refuse any or all proposals or bids or portions thereof. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope and marked: "Bid of (Contractor) for ALHAMBRA AVENUE DOWNTOWN PAVING PROJECT" along with date and time of bid opening. Bids shall be dropped and timestamped at first floor entrance of City Offices, Engineering Counter, at City Hall. City Hall is open between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday excluding Holidays. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprises goal for this contract is 13 percent. All Bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3, of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project and shall be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or type of work called for under the Contract. The general contractor is required to have a California State Contractor's License Class A. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept only a portion of certain items of the bid or to waive any informality in the bid. If a bidder has any problems in understanding or accepting any of the terms and/or conditions specified in the bid documents, said bidder must contact Ali Hatefi by email at ahatefi@cityofmartinez.org at least seven (7) calendar days before the scheduled bid opening. Otherwise, it will be presumed that bidder agrees with, understands and has read all the bid documents above specified.
