The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide maintenance services on traffic signal systems within the 11 county coverage area of the Lynchburg District in accordance with the specifications contained herein. The Virginia Department of Transportation will enter into a contract for maintenance of the traffic signal systems and issue task order-based work assignments. This contract may also be used to augment existing VDOT traffic signal maintenance staff. Additional
VDOT region(s) may be added to this contract by task order with similar scope. Work shall consist of:
1. Planned corrective maintenance/repairs
2. Unplanned corrective maintenance/repairs
3. Technology upgrades VDOT's ability to keep traffic signals operating as designed and with a high reliability is critical to reducing intersection crashes and vehicle delays. This contract will assist VDOT in completing other work related to the traffic signal maintenance program (i.e., planned corrective maintenance and staff augmentation). Generally, VDOT Traffic Signal Technicians will perform preventive maintenance inside the controller cabinet and unplanned corrective maintenance/emergency response (i.e., service calls). issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM EST on
August 1, 2024. From date of award through a one (1) year term with two (2) one year renewal periods (renewable). Bid open description:
