Estimate the project cost is between $60,000 - $100,000. Scope of Work: The project is to remove and replace the damaged beams on the north and south entrances to the City Hall building. 1. Replace the furthest north 8 3/4" wide x 37'-4" span laminated beam. 2. Replace the furthest south 8 3/4" wide x 37'-4" span laminated beam. 3. Beams: a) W.C.D. Fir/Exterior Glue/Architectural Grade b) Stained and individually wrapped c) Fabricated per shop drawings 4. Primed connection steel and zinc plated hardware for joining glue-laminated timber members to each other. 5. Paint connection steel to match existing beams. 6. Shoring in both locations for the removal and installation of new laminated beams. 7. Remove roof shingles, nail-based insulation and roof accessories as required to access wood decking to remove fasteners to existing laminated beams. 8. Replace roof shingles, nail-based insulation and roof accessories with new to match after beams have been installed. All bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bank Draft in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total bid. Said security to be made payable to the City of Milbank and to be drawn on a State or national Bank domiciled within the State of South Dakota. Said security will be retained by the City of Milbank in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract when notified of the awards. Bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid may be submitted with the bid in place of the security. The City of Milbank reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and make award(s) as deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Milbank.
