Town of Argos, Indiana, by and through its Town Council, hereinafter referred to as the Town, will receive sealed bids for the following services: Collection and disposal of refuse, including recyclables, from locations within the Town limits for the term of three years starting 01/01/2025, in accordance with the "Specifications for the Collection and Disposal of Refuse, including Recyclables" (" Specifications"), which shall be provided by the winning bidder and approved by the Town Council. Bids/Proposals received after 4:00 pm (EST) will be returned unopened. However, the Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids. All services and materials furnished and labor performed incident to the performance of the contract shall be furnished and performed in accordance with the requirements of the "Specifications", available from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office, 201 W. Walnut St., Argos, IN 46501. The bidder shall also factor into their proposal the costs of disposal of the town-wide cleanup days, which shall take place one day each month of April, June, August and October. Each bidder response shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the legend "Refuse & Recyclables Collection" and the name and address of the Bidder. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond made payable to the Town, in a sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), which check or bond will be held by the Town as evidence that the Bidder will, if awarded a contract, enter into the same with the Town upon notification from it to do so, within (15) days of said notification. Approved performance bond guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the services, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the contractor at the time of contract execution. The bond shall be in the amount of 10% of the one (1) year's contract bid price, in accordance with the "Specifications". Failure to execute a contract and to furnish a performance bond as herein set out will be cause for forfeiture to the Town of the amount of money represented by the certified check or bidder's bond, as and for liquidated damages. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms provided by the Town and shall include the Non-Collusion Affidavit and Contractors Form 96, executed by the Bidder, all as required by statute. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of the Town of Argos for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled time of receiving same. No consideration for conditional escalation on unit prices can be considered, and, therefore, bidders are advised not to include any such escalation clauses in their proposals for these services.
