Atascadero Firestop Installation Services DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES A. Description of Services/Background: 1. The Contractor shall provide Firestop Installation Services to restore the hourly rating of fire rated assemblies that have been compromised by Unified Hospital Command (UHC) speakers and associated Local Area Network (LAN) wiring. Firestop systems must be an approved Underwriter Laboratories system (UL) or have a supporting Engineering Judgement (EJ) to restore the rating and integrity of the existing fire rated construction. 2. Please carefully review and consider the minimum qualifications, and the detailed Scope of Work located in Attachment 20, Sample Agreement, Exhibit A, Scope of Work, in order to complete your bid. 3. The UHC System consists of installed speakers, speaker boxes, conduit, and cabling in DSH facilities. Fire rated walls, corridor ceilings, floors, and smoke barriers were penetrated during the UHC installation, compromising the construction’s intended fire rating. The term of any agreement resulting from this IFB is anticipated to be December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2026. Any agreement resulting from this IFB shall have no force or effect until it is signed by both parties and approved by the Department of General Services (DGS) if such approval is required. Performance shall start no later than on the expressed date set by the awarding agency and after all approvals have been obtained and the agreement is fully executed. Professional Liability: Contractor shall maintain Professional Liability insurance covering any damages caused by an error, omission or any negligent acts. Contractor shall maintain limits of not less than $1,000,000 per claim and $2,000,000 aggregate. Performance Bond: Contractor shall obtain and maintain a performance bond of not less than the contract price of this Agreement, which shall be executed by a California-admitted surety insurer. Bonds not so-executed shall be rejected. Contractor shall submit two (2) executed copies on standard bonding company forms. Payment Bond: Contractor shall provide DSH with a payment bond of not less than the contract price of this Agreement. The bond shall cover the costs of labor and materials provided by Contractor’s employees, subcontractors, and suppliers in the event that Contractor fails to pay the costs of labor and materials to those individuals or entities. In order to meet this requirement, Contractor shall submit two (2) executed copies of the Payment Bond Form (STD 807) DSH reserves the right to reject all bids. DSH is not required to award an agreement.
