Myra-Bellevue Park was established to provide increased representation of the North Okanagan Basin and North Okanagan Highlands ecosections by capturing the full elevational range from the outskirts of Kelowna eastward to the crest of the mountains. Myra Bellevue Park includes features such as the dramatic escarpment of Little White Mountain, the scenic Myra Canyon, a number or existing trails and the historic Kettle Valley Railway, with its trestles and tunnels, have provincial recreational appeal and provide long term recreational opportunities for the increasing Okanagan Valley population. All inquiries to be electronically submitted to: jonathan.finlay@gov.bc.ca The Myra Station Trailhead and Parking Area are critical infrastructure within the Park, supporting recreational opportunities along the Rail Trail, featuring 18 Trestles, scenic views, and visitation upwards of 300,000 people during the summer season. Currently the Myra Station Trailhead services the general public, seasonal bike rental opportunities, various tourism operators, as well as all emergency response needs within the Park. The scope of work is to construct a new parking lot and improve the existing parking lot at the Myra Trailhead. The anticipated work schedule is three months in 2024 (9 September-9 December) and three months in 2025 (15 March - 15 June). In general, the work includes the following: Siteworks including clearing, excavation, material placement and grading; Rock excavation; Ditching and swale shaping; Tree removal and chipping; Installation of fencing and cattle guard; Installation of parking and traffic signage; Installation of culverts; Installation of pre-cast parking curbs; Installation of steel removable bollards; Installation of Owner Supplied precast concrete buildings and tanks.
