The City and Borough of Sitka (CBS) announces a Call for Art / Architectural Enhancements (CFA) for artwork to be designed, produced, and installed at the Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport Terminal QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS CFA: Prior to the submittal, inquiries may be directed to Joseph Bea, Airport Terminal Manager, City and Borough of Sitka at joseph.bea@cityofsitka.org. While phone inquiries can be made to (907) 747-1803, emails are requested to allow for tracking of potential questions. Inquiries shall be submitted no later than Monday, September 9th, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. local time. The City and Borough of Sitka reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive informalities. The portion of the total budget available for Area A is approximately $15,000; Area B is approximately $35,000. The Selection Panel may consider one or multiple artworks within the total budget. Construction work associated with Phase 1 of the SIT Terminal Reconstruction project is currently underway and is scheduled to be complete in May 2025. This portion of the project constructs a new 2-story area toward the South and West of the existing terminal building. Phase 2 will renovate existing areas of the terminal. This will begin approximately June 2025. The design of all proposed architectural enhancements must be completed in collaboration with the design team to meet critical construction schedules. Deadlines will be described in more specific detail with the successful proposer, prior to contract negotiation completion. The DBE utilization goal for this solicitation is 0%, however, Proposers are encouraged to utilize DBE firms if subcontracting opportunities are available. All Proposers must submit the forms included in Appendix B with their Proposal. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
