Reference Number 0000360110 Job Location: City of Melvindale, Wayne County, Michigan The proposed project consists of the removal and replacement of up to 400 lead water service leads, from the existing water main into the building being served by each water lead, over the next two years (2024 to 2025) maximum. This shall include a new service from the water main to within the building and connecting to the existing meter. The locations of the water service lead replacements are in various location throughout the City of Melvindale and will be provided by the City of Melvindale DPW. Coordination with the City of Melvindale DPW and Water Department for scheduling, notification of residents, and service installations will be required throughout the project. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than September 30, 2024, and substantially completed by December 19, 2025, with final completion by May 29, 2026. The project will include the full replacement of the lead service with copper leads via directional drill, including all pavement removals, bore pits, building bores, service line installations, connections, pavement replacement, and all restoration required to complete the project. Extensive coordination with the City DPW will be required for scheduling and installation.
