Reference Number 0000377111 The City Of Melvindale Is Accepting Proposals For Engineering Services/grant Administration For Cdbg Funded Sanitary Sewer Lining Projects 1 And 2, In The City Of Melvindale, Wayne County, Michigan Expanded Project 1 Description: The City of Melvindale's project as shown in the project location map includes sanitary sewer lining for six streets or easements - Robert Street and City Boundary Easement, Robert and Harman Easement, Harman and Hanna Easement, Hanna and Wood Easement, Coleman Street, and Oakwood Boulevard Alley. The entire City of Melvindale is over 51% LMI population. These sewers were originally installed in the 1940's. The proposed project is cured-in-place pipe lining. Cured-in-place sewer lining is a trenchless technology that forms a new pipelining into an existing one. The new lining provides a strong durable material that fixes structural damage and leaking joints. The newly lined pipe not only seals the pipe from incoming groundwater, but also creates a smoother surface allowing for greater flow capacity. Higher flow capacity and sealed sewer pipes significantly reduces the surcharge flooding backups into surrounding buildings. The project lines 12,992 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines and includes 509 sanitary sewer lead reinstatements. Here is the breakdown of each street.
