Demolition, site work and environmental remediation for a municipal facility in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for environmental remediation for a municipal facility.

TIME OF COMPLETION 180 Calendar Days DBE GOAL Race Neutral 1.9% BID BOND 5% Plan Holders List not maintained. GENERAL SCOPE (a) The project consists of asbestos abatement and demolition of 325 E. Belt Blvd. and limited site improvements to allow bus storage and vehicle parking on the property. The subject building is a 35,500 square foot onestory building that was originally constructed as a bowling alley in the early 1960s. The building is currently vacant, and the site is used for the storage of GRTC vehicles and bus stop infrastructure. The building consists of structural steel framing with concrete masonry units (CMU) making up the exterior perimeter walls and a single ply membrane roof system. Exterior finishes consist of stucco/plaster and painted CMU. The main entrance is an aluminum storefront with steel pedestrian doors located along the east and west sides of the building. The roof consists of a single-ply roof and is generally in damaged condition. Upon demolition completion, the footprint of the building will be filled with select fill and topped with compressed gravel as per the specifications. (b) The contractor is responsible for performing all services included in the project plans according to the Technical Specifications and the Construction Contract Documents. Contractor must secure all necessary permits and authorizations prior to beginning the Work. All work at the site shall be coordinated with the Construction Manager and be scheduled so as to cause the least disruption to GRTCs ongoing operations, the City of Richmonds use of the remaining parking lot, and to general traffic on the adjacent streets.
