The Town of Wellesley, acting through its Board of Public Works, invites bids for: Bates School Playground Installation and Site Work Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Wellesley. Bid deposit shall be not less than 5% (five percent) of the bid amount. Specifications will also provide that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall be required, as a condition of such award, to furnish a Performance Bond in a form satisfactory to the Board of Public Works and equal to the amount of the Proposal, to insure the faithful performance of the contract, and a Surety Company bond acceptable to the Board and equal to the amount of the proposal for payment of labor and materials, to insure the completion of the work in accordance with provisions of the specifications and terms of the contract. Any bidding entity must be themselves, or subcontract out the playground installation to, a Landscape Structures Inc. Certified installer. LSI certification must be supplied during the bid process/at submission. Any bids being submitted without proof of LSI certification may be rejected or deemed to be an invalid response to the bid. Bidder must provide 10 or more references of completed playground projects similar in scope and nature. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall be required to submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Request Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) for all persons working on the Project, including Subcontractors. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to accept or reject any Proposal or to accept or reject any or all Proposals as, in its sole judgment, the best interest of the Town of Wellesley would be served by so doing.
