All questions related to the Invitation for Bid shall be directed in writing via e-mail to bids@globeaz.gov by Friday, August 30, 2024, 4:00 P.M. (AZ Time). The City will coordinate with the CONTRACTOR to schedule the replacement of the water meters in stages and in a manner that will cause the least disruption of service to customers, preferably when current meter reads occur. The City will procure and provide the AMI water meters to the CONTRACTOR as needed throughout the installation process. Concurrently with the water meter replacements, the CONTRACTOR will conduct visual inspections on both sides of the water meters to determine construction materials (Lead, Copper, Steel, PVC, etc.), condition, and diameter of all public and private water service lines, accurately and comprehensively. The CONTRACTOR will also document and report, per location, any damaged, missing, or noncompatible water meter boxes and/or covers upon the installation of the AMI water meters. The City plans to replace or repair any damaged, missing, or noncompatible meter boxes shortly after they have been reported. Bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, a certified check, or a Bidder's bond in an amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount of the Contractor's total bid. Bid bonds must be executed by a duly licensed corporate surety in the State of Arizona and be made payable without condition to the Owner. Said bid security shall be considered liquidated damages and be forfeited to the Owner in the event the bid is accepted, and the successful Bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish contract documents within 10 days after the Award of Contract as required by the contract documents.
