A. This specification covers, preparation of surfaces, performance and completion of painting of all interior and exterior surfaces of a 500,000-gallon steel water storage tank located near Worthington Park in West Memphis, Arkansas. B. The date the tank was built and the builder are unknown since the nameplate was missing. The tank diameter is 50' and the head range is 37'-0" C. Laboratory analysis of an exterior paint chip revealed a lead content of 27.84 ppm. Therefore, no special precautions will be required during abrasive blast cleaning efforts. The interior and exterior coatings were completely removed during the last maintenance event in 2008 and the new systems installed are "lead-free" per the coating manufacturer. D. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all costs associated with sampling, worker protection, environmental pollution control, handling of debris, laboratory analysis and waste disposal. This specification covers repair, preparation of surfaces, performance and completion of painting of all interior and exterior surfaces of one 500,000-gallon capacity spheroid type water storage tank located on East Barton Avenue in West Memphis, Arkansas.
