The City of Brush! is partnering with the Main Street Program of the Brush Area Chamber of Commerce in pursuing a downtown enhancement project of completing pavers on the north end of the 200 West side block of Clayton Street (Clayton), and is seeking bids for the project. At this time, this project is contingent upon being awarded grant funds, for which the bids received for the project will be utilized as part of the grant application process. If awarded sufficient grant funds, the project award will be done by City Council at a time to be determined. Pavers is understood to be a row(s) of bricks placed into the ground to create a level walking surface that provide a charming and attractive environment for the downtown area. Unless alternative ideas are submitted that meet the intent, the scope of work includes: Removal of existing dirt and gravel Proper placement and compaction of base material and bedding in new paver area Installation of pavers that match the existing downtown pavers (Exhibit A) Details: Ground leveling will be done in the inlays to allow Brick Pavers to be level with existing sidewalk and curb as needed. Pavers will be placed in an estimated area of 7.5' x 123' uncompleted section on the north end of the 200 block (along Edmunds Street) of the west side of Clayton to the alleyway. Existing pavers are Holland style. Details of base and bedding recommendations are here, as well as as-built in Exhibit A. Bench(es) might be placed in the paver area during installation of pavers to allow for downtown seating while allowing pedestrian access to the walkway, maintain adequate sidewalk walkability, and will be placed and/or anchored at the proper depths. If during installation of pavers, this will be coordinated with awarded contractor If grant funds are awarded to City as stated above, which is expected to be known by the end of November, project bid will be awarded no later than January 31, 2025, and project will be required to be completed by June 1, 2025.
