Question Deadline 09/26/2024 at 1:00 PM CT It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. A Bid Bond is not required for this solicitation. The Awarded vendor will be required to provide a Performance Bond as indicated on Attribute #4. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for the removal and replacement of vinyl windows with casement windows at the DOT Cedar Rapids District Office as per the attached drawings and specifications. Bid includes alternate to add three awning windows and brick masonry work. Estimated Start Date: October 15, 2024. (Start date to be coordinated with the DOT Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract) Estimated Completion Date: May 25, 2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in constructions bids). All Line Items are tied. Project Timeline: Start and completion dates listed in this solicitation are desired dates. Bidders are welcome to propose other reasonable dates for DOT consideration based on but not limited to; lead time for materials, beginning or ends of seasonal periods, coordination and availability of subcontractors. If new dates are proposed, please see attribute #10. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in site. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via site. Bid Responses should be submitted within site or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided. Telephonic, email or facsimile responses will not be considered. Warranty: Refer to specifications on the Attachment Tab for warranty requirements. This project is exempt from sales tax.
