The Town of Uxbridge Department of Public Works, through its Town Manager, hereinafter known as the "Awarding Authority", invites qualified firms to submit quotes for the services identified in the Request for Quotes (RFQ) #2025-02 FY 2025 Snow and Ice Control at Municipal Facilities. The Town of Uxbridge (Owner) intends to contract for Snow and Ice Control for various locations in Uxbridge, Massachusetts (Sites). The fee schedule for snow and ice activities is attached hereto in SECTION 3 - QUOTE. Normal plowing operations will be defined generally to be snowfalls in excess of or anticipated to be in excess of three inches (3"). In snowfalls of less than three inches (3"), the Town at its discretion may utilize only its own equipment to plow and treat the roads. Snowplowing operations to commence when three inches (3"), or more, of snow accumulates as determined by the Owner; irrespective of time of day or day of week and including all holidays. Commencements of plowing operations are based upon snow accumulations at the Site. The Owner understands that snow accumulations may vary throughout Uxbridge, and that accumulations in one section of Uxbridge are not necessarily indicative of the accumulations at the Site. The Owner maintains the responsibility for monitoring and inspecting the Site. Award will be made within (30) days after quote opening to the lowest responsive and responsible quoter. "Lowest Responsible" shall mean the firm whose TOTAL QUOTE is the lowest of those firms possessing skill, ability and integrity necessary to the faithful performance of the work and who shall certify that he/she is able to furnish labor that can work in harmony with all other elements of labor employed or to be employed on the project. References may be used to determine if a quoter is "responsible". Question Deadline 10/16/2024 Questions concerning this RFQ must be submitted in writing to: Benn S. Sherman, 147 Hecla Street, Uxbridge, MA 01569. Questions may be delivered, mailed, emailed (bsherman@uxbridge-ma.gov) or faxed. No interpretations of the purchase description or other contract documents will be made by the quoter orally. Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing. Written responses will be mailed or faxed to all firms on record as having requested the RFQ. The Town of Uxbridge reserves the right to reject any and all quotes and to waive any informality in quotes received whenever such rejection or waiver is in its best interest. The Town of Uxbridge may also defer the start of work operations should they deem it its best interest. Quotes received prior to the date of opening will be securely kept, unopened. No responsibility will attach to an officer or person for the premature opening of a quotes not properly addressed and identified. The dates for the provision of the work in this Contract shall be for the period of October 23, 2024, through May 1, 2025.
