The Project work shall include the following description of the work: Clearing and Chipping Mobilization Access Roads & Street Cleaning Haul Roads Protection of Katy Trail Signs and barrers Demolition & removals Installation of erosion control Earthwork grading onsite, and providing approved borrow site material Sewer installation, removals and abandonment SWPPP and Temporary Erosion Controls and monitoring Site restoration and seeding No facsimile bids shall be accepted. The bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit (guaranty) for the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The bid deposit may be in the form of a bid bond issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in the state of Missouri and with a financial strength rating of A with a financial size category of IX or better by A. M. Best, a certified check or a cashier's check drawn on a bank located in St. Charles County, the City of St. Charles, St. Louis County, or the City of St. Louis. The bid deposit shall be forfeited to the City if the bidder does not execute a contract for the Project and provide all bonds, insurance requirements and other required documents by the date stated in the bid award. The City reserves the right to require the bidders to provide proof of the ability to properly finance and execute the Project together with a record of successful completion of similar projects. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to advertise for new bids. The City reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the execution of a contract for up to one hundred twenty (120) days after the date of bid opening. The successful bidder shall execute the Project contract and deliver all bonds and other required documents by the date stated in the bid award. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance and payment bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount and shall provide certificates of insurance and insurance policy endorsements for workers' compensation, commercial general liability, auto liability, property damage and other policies of insurance as stated in the bid specifications and in the amounts stated therein for the therein stated policy periods. Project work shall commence work within seven (7) calendar days after the date of written notice from the City to start work and shall complete the Base Bid work within 90 calendar days after the expiration date of the seven (7) day period. The bidder shall have been in the business of providing the construction services for which it is submitting prices herein for a period of no less than five (5) consecutive years prior to the bid opening date. B. The bidder shall have provided construction services of the size and scope similar to that described herein to municipal customers within the last two (2) years. Bidder shall include with its bid a list of references for previous contracts requiring the construction services of the scope and size described herein, including a brief description of the construction services provided and contact information.
