Saving Project...

This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Telluride, Colorado. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Location: Idarado Legacy Trail, CO-145 Spur (Colorado Ave.) east of Pandora Lane The San Miguel County Parks & Open Space department is seeking qualified bidders to remove and haul the debris covering a section of the Idarado Legacy Trail, located east of Pandora Lane, Telluride CO, 81435. The project will include all preparations necessary to remove the debris and haul to the dumping site at the CDOT pullout area on CO-145 between mile markers 75 and 76. This is only about a 1/4 mile past the San Miguel County Road & Bridge Deep Creek site. The contractor must restore the trail to the original alignment, while removing and relocating the debris. This project must be completed by November 11th, 2024. This 1.24-mile trail is located between the Town of Telluride and the Idarado Newmont Mine in the east end of the Telluride Valley. This improved trail is a great area to walk your dog, hike or bike. Interpretive signs have been installed along the trail to tell the story of mining history in the area. The trail terminates just before the Idarado Mill where the paved road turns to dirt and continues up to Bridal Veil Falls. Trail is open to all non-motorized uses. Dogs must be on a leash or under strict voice command. While the Idarado Legacy Trail is 1.24 miles long, only about 900 feet are currently affected by the mudslide. At its narrowest the trail is about 8 feet wide, so smaller excavation machinery is needed. Staging of trucks and equipment can occur at the top of the hill, just past Royer Lane. The rock boulders may be temporarily moved for this purpose. There is a small pull-out along Hwy 145/Colorado Ave, where an excavator can access the middle of the trail and potentially load trucks with debris. The trail is approximately 8 feet wide, but some areas of the debris flow can be 20 feet wide and the mudslide path is not uniform. The depth of the debris ranges from 1-2 feet (see attached pictures). Please note the County vendor list (see attachment) with approved pricing if the contractor will need to subcontract hauling services.
