The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of an existing shingle roof at the Hanlontown Maintenance facility per the scope of work included in this solicitation. Off-site disposal of all demolition debris is required. Estimated project start date: 10/28/2024 (The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date: 11/29/2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). Contract Award It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. All lines are tied. Site Visits: A site visits are recommended and will be accommodated if needed prior to submitting a bid to ensure the vendor has access to view the job site. To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at julie.brown@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want to conduct a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit.
