As of March 4, 2025, an engineer has been selected. Any construction done will be determined after engineering services are complete. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors (referred to here as the Consultant or Consultant Team) for the Wisconsin Point Coastal Habitat & Resiliency Project. This request for proposals is to complete preliminary engineering pre-design services in partnership with WDNR, the Core Project Team, and the local community. This pre-design work will result in an alternative analysis that identifies restoration and habitat management actions designed to enhance coastal resiliency in the face of increasing climate change stressors. Services for data collection, data analysis, data synthesis, and alternatives analysis will be contracted to proceed at this time. Contingent services - which includes project design, bid phase, permitting and compliance, construction oversight, and post-construction services - will be contracted as funding is made available. WDNR intends to apply for design and implementation funding and reserves the right to authorize services based on the availability of funds and Consultant performance for previous services. The deadline for submitting emailed questions regarding this RFP is no later than 2:00PM CDT September 20, 2024. Questions are to be submitted to DNR via e-mail at Kacey.Burns@wisconsin.gov. Questions submitted via phone will not be accepted. Answers to the emailed questions submitted will be emailed to the Proposers by 10:00AM CST October 4, 2024.
