Orondo School District invites bidders to deliver bids to Orondo School District for remodel of the lower floor of the Orondo School District s Old School House with limited updates to the main floor in order to facilitate a new Early Learning Center. The expected cost of construction is $900,000. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the time set for opening thereof, unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding 40 days. A bid bond or surety check in the amount of 5% of the proposal is required. The Board of Directors of Orondo School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive as an informality any irregularities . Orondo School District is committed to providing the maximum practicable opportunity for participation by Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), and Veteran Owned Businesses; however, no minimum level of participation shall be required as a condition of selection. Summary Scope of Work a. Upgrade of 4 exterior entrances doors. b. Revise east stairwell to serve main and lower floor. c. Abate the remaining asbestos containing building materials as demolition progress allows. d. Cut out and re-pour a section of lower floor slab to inset the new wheelchair lift 3" below adjacent finish floor. Additional plumbing cuts as noted. e. Provide ADA access to main and lower floors via a new wheelchair lift. f. Remodel lower floor with four early learning classrooms, restrooms, reception, future kitchen, mechanical room, and egress. g. Relocate electrical service, electrical panels and fan-coil unit. Install new duct-work from fcu to serve some areas and install new mechanical minisplit systems to serve the remaining areas.h. Upgrade lighting to LED both floors. i. Provide electrical raceways for owner-installed life/safety, surveillance and data network low voltage systems. j. Install a new septic pressure system including a lift-station and dosing tank.
