The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to resurface the roadway, rehabilitate bridges, and upgrade roadside safety on both directions of travel along I-84 in Danbury. The project involves the rehabilitation of existing pavement to extend its service life, upgrading roadside safety equipment, and repairing the existing stormwater drainage system as needed. This project also includes the replacement of the superstructures - Bridge Nos. 01181 & 01182 (I-84 east and westbound over the Housatonic Railroad). As of November 4, 2025, this project is in the design phase.
