Site work for a water / sewer project in Kennewick, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work and materials required include furnishing and installation of shotcrete/concrete canal lining. CID reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in the bid or bidding. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw their bid after the hour set for the bid opening thereof or before award of the contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days. No alterations to the Bid Documents will be accepted. The Columbia Irrigation District (CID) is soliciting quotes to perform the following work. The work includes the concrete lining of approximately 1,000 linear feet of the Main Canal beginning upstream of 38th Ave in West Richland. The lining must be formed and screed concrete or shotcrete. The minimum thickness of the lining material must be 4 inches. The canal side slopes and bottom measure approximately 38 feet across. It is anticipated the project will require approximately 480 cubic yards of concrete/shotcrete to complete based on the neat line measurement. Contractor Responsibilities: The Contractor shall be responsible for the furnishing, placement, and finishing of the concrete/shotcrete as specified by CID on the canal bottom, canal side slopes and in the cutoff wall trenches at each end of the lining project where the liner terminates at each end and along the top of the side slopes. The liner shall be finished to provide a level, straight line parallel to or perpendicular to the canal. If shotcrete is used the shotcrete mix design shall include fiber reinforcement, troweled in expansion joints must be installed every 10 feet. The Contractor will be required to provide the CID with a minimum of 1 week of notice prior to beginning placement of the liner. A mix design for the concrete/shotcrete shall be submitted to the CID for approval. The Contractor will be responsible for protecting the subgrade and repairing damage resulting from activities ahead of placing the lining. Columbia Irrigation District Responsibilities: The CID will be responsible for all subgrade preparation and having the canal prism cleaned, shaped and ready for the Contractor to apply the concrete/shotcrete by November 13th, 2024. Cutoff walls installed at each end of the lining will be excavated and installed with rebar by CID and ready for the Contractor to apply the concrete/shotcrete. The 480 CY of concrete or shotcrete noted above is an estimate only. Based on the dimensions noted above the neat line concrete/shotcrete quantity is 470 CY. The total includes an estimated 10 CY for the cutoff walls located at each end of the project. CID anticipates the actual average concrete/shotcrete depth will be slightly over 4 inches. The CID will pay the contractor on a lump sum basis for the furnishing, placement and finishing of 480 CY of concrete/shotcrete. Measurement of the placed material will be made using the material suppliers trip tickets which the contractor shall collect and furnish to the CID. The Contractor shall apply a minimum of 4 inches of concrete/shotcrete but shall minimize excess depth to extend the total length if possible. If the 480 CY concrete/shotcrete is not used in the1,000 ft segment of canal, additional canal will be prepared by the CID and lined by the Contractor in another location.
