construct the North Platte Paving District No. 838 Golden Road consisting of approximately 8,810 square yards of 10 Portland cement concrete paving, and appurtenances thereto. At which hour or as soon as possible thereafter, the City Clerk of North Platte, Nebraska, will proceed to open in a public letting, and consider the bids received for the construction of the aforesaid improvements. Bids shall be an aggregate on all work to be performed, broken down to accurately reflect unit prices for all estimated quantities. Bids will be received only on the proposal forms furnished by the City Engineer. Each proposal must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Bid Bond or a Certified Check in an amount equal to 5% of the Contractor's Bid of the cost of the project as a guarantee of good faith, and made payable to the City Treasurer. The Certified Check, Bid Bond or Cashier's Check may be retained by the City of North Platte as liquidated damages if such proposal is accepted, the contract is awarded, and the bidder fails to enter into a contract in the form prescribed with satisfactory surety within ten (10) days after the award is made. The checks of the two (2) low bidders will be returned after the contract and the bond is executed by the successful bidder. Checks will be returned to each of the other unsuccessful bidders. The City of North Platte, Nebraska, reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids. The project will include all work necessary with the project to be completed by April 1, 2025.
