Replacing the existing Gates Street Sewer Pump Station will substantially improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and safety. The existing station is 70 years old and a new station is required to improve safety and operational conditions. The station was constructed in 1953 and last rehabilitated in 1984. The pumps require constant attention to stay in operation. Corrosion has deteriorated the interior of both the pump room. The wet well ventilation is substandard, resulting in air quality risk to operators and accelerated corrosion. The new pump station will be a suction-lift packaged station, a configuration that has proven to provide excellent performance and enable much better accessibility for operations and maintenance. This type of station provides direct accessibility at or just below grade by simply removing a fiberglass enclosure. The new station will have all new components and will be upgraded to the Citys standards for SCADA, enhancing centralized monitoring and data gathering. As of October 29, 2024, This project is included in the city's 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
