Renovation of a library in Petersburgh, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The scope of services principally consists of the re-roofing of the Public Library building, but also includes the removal of the existing cinder block chimney to below the roof line, the removal of the existing gutters and replacement with new gutters for the whole building, the removal and replacement of any rotted plywood, the installation of new plywood over the opening from the cinder block chimney, the removal and replacement of all underlayment, and the removal and replacement of all flashing. The building has a hip and ridge roof with four sides, fronted by a gabled portico, and gabled facades. The covered area of the roof is approximately [2000] feet (guestimate), although bidders are encouraged to measure for themselves the exact square footage requirements. Town Board meeting currently scheduled for November 18, 2024 at 7:00pm. The Town of Petersburgh seeks your firm fixed price proposal for the re-roofing of the Petersburgh Public Library building. The project entails re-roofing all 4 sides of the hip and ridge roof, the front shed portico, and the gabled facades. The project would consist of removing and disposing of the existing asphalt shingles, replacing any rotted or damaged plywood, removing the cinder block chimney to below the roof line and covering the area with new plywood, replacing the dormer flashing, adding flashing to the gabled facades, and replacing the 3 large gable eave vents. In addition, new continuous seam gutters and downspouts will be installed along all slope sides of the roof. Re-roofing shall be to current building codes using "GAF weatherwood or equivalent" asphalt shingles, two rows of "weather guard" ice and water underlayment, "GAF Feltbuster or equivalent" synthetic underlayment, all plywood seams to be taped and 1 1/4 " electrogalvanized coiled roofing nails, or equivalent materials. The project also consists of applying ice and water underlayment and stepflashing to watertight the shed portico, and the gabled facades. The existing rain gutters shall be removed and disposed. Proposals should include a detailed cost break-out of materials and labor, an approximate lead time for project completion and a description of the amount of time the building will need to be closed, if any.
