The Town of Petersburgh is seeking proposals from qualified contractors (Contractor) for the installation of a new center median with concrete curbs in the municipal parking lot, and the replacement / repair of certain concrete curbs on three adjacent existing center medians located in front of the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Center located at 71 Main Street, in the Town of Petersburgh, New York. From the date of issuance of this bid, and until a binding contractual agreement is executed with a selected firm, all specific communications between the Town of Petersburgh and the Bidders or any of their individual members, shall be through formal communications with the Building Facilities Manager with a copy sent to the Town Clerk office including, but not be limited to: (1) specific written inquiries, (2) written questions and answers, and (3) written addenda. No informal communication shall occur regarding this procurement, including requests for information, comments, speculation, etc., between a Bidder (or any of its sub-contractors), and any employee or elected official of the Town of Petersburgh. Scope of the Work The scope of services principally consists of installing a new center media located on the edge of the Petersburgh municipal parking lot adjacent to Route 2, and repairing / replacing parts of the existing concrete curbs on three adjacent center median sections. The area of the new center media measures approximately 63 feet by 6 feet. The sections of the existing curbs on the three center median sections that require replacement / repair shall be evaluated by each Bidder based on their respective site inspection and the proposed length of such repair / replacement shall be described in detail in the Special Comments section of the Bid Form. Bidders are encouraged to measure for themselves the exact length and width requirements for all elements of the proposed project. The project specifically includes: o Saw-cut, dig-out, remove and dispose of the existing asphalt section of the municipal parking lot where a new center median section will be installed; 9 o Saw-cut, dig-out, remove and dispose of the damaged, existing concrete curbs on the three existing center medians in a manner that minimizes destruction of the existing landscaping; o Installation of a new center median with concrete curbs measuring approximately 63 feet x 6 feet; o Installation of new concrete curbs on the three existing center medians with measurements to be determined by each Bidder upon site inspection; o Refilling the dug-out areas with new topsoil; o All concrete curb areas that are intended to be installed or repaired / replaced shall be premarked by the Approved Bidder with the concurrence and acceptance by the Building Facilities Manager; o The type of concrete mix to be utilized for all proposed curbs shall be rated Class J for ultra-high strength applications; o Repair, if any, of the surrounding asphalt; o A work permit for the site has been secured in advance by the Town with the New York State Department of Transportation given its proximity to Route 2; a copy of which shall be provided to the Bidders; and o The contractor shall be responsible for temporary traffic control and signage, and anyone working within the Route 2 right-of-way shall wear high-visibility apparel meeting ANSI 107 standards and a hard hat.
