Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The Cal Softball Field Renovation (UCB Softball Stadium) includes the construction of a new 2 story softball stadium in strawberry canyon at the site of the existing Levine-Fricke Softball Field and adjacent to California Memorial Stadium. The structure is composed of concrete piles and a mixture of structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast concrete. The main areas of the project, which encompass approximately 150,000 gross square feet, include the concourse level, press box area, service level, locker rooms, playing field & seating bowl with a capacity of 1,467 patrons. The completed project will be the new home of the University of California, Berkeley Women's NCAA Softball Team. Plant Construction seeks responses to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from Trade Subcontractors interested in bidding the SP01.1 Surveying and Layout scope on the contract for the University of California, Berkeley Cal Softball Field Renovation located in Berkeley ("Project"), California. Plant Construction seeks Contractors with significant experience in coordination and execution of renovation projects that are medium to large in size and involve challenging logistical conditions and aggressive schedules. The scope of work will be to coordinate and execute the complete SP01.1 Surveying and Layout. Trade Contractors must have previous experience with similar size, type and scale projects totaling the Pre-bid Estimate stated above on a single project within the past 5 years, as well as previous experience within Alameda County and/or The University of California Berkeley, or within 25 miles of the project area, within the last 5 years. Additionally, the Trade Contractor must have previous experience in and to be able to facilitate the LEED + Local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) requirements. Trade Contractors who are evaluated and deemed pre-qualified to perform the Work will be eligible to submit a bid. Trade Contractors who do not submit the prequalification information will not be allowed to bid for the project. The Trade Contractor will be responsible for the specified work and if selected for the scope of work; the Trade Contractor will be required to comply with all University of California Berkeley requirements, all required state, and local requirements. If the Trade Contractor wishes to be prequalified for multiple trade packages, they must complete the RFQ document for each package they wish to prequalify for. Trade Contractors shall submit and will be evaluated on information with respect to their experience on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity, as well as local project experience at the University of California, Berkeley and within Alameda County. The information shall include general and specific experience, claim and surety history, ability to meet schedule and budget requirements and skills in general management. Resumes of key personnel who will manage and supervise the construction shall be provided in the RFQ response. Trade Contractors must hold valid contractors licenses, must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and must provide the ability to obtain corporate surety (payment & performance) bonds and insurance in order to be eligible for this RFQ. A California license for the Trade Contractor Stated above shall be required. Trade Contractors must have a permanent office located within 50 miles of the project location. November 1st, 2024 by 12:00pm noon Request for Clarifications Deadline The SP01.1 Surveying and Layout scope includes but is not limited to surveying and layout required during various stages of construction, including but not limited to, setting of primary construction control points, utility demolition layout, layout of shoring wall, layout of piles, rough-grading layout for field, layout of new utilities, layout for all finish grading etc. It will also require multiple coordination meetings with the project architect, structural engineer, Plant, and various State and Cal Berkeley Agencies. Trade Contractor to provide examples of projects where the Project Scope has been installed with their own crews. If the Trade Contractor cannot prove their ability to perform all aspects of the scope package, it can be grounds for disqualification. Trade Contractor to provide examples of projects where they have worked effectively with multiple crews on multiple shifts to accommodate project schedule and logistics. LEED(TM) Recycling Program: The project has a LEED(TM) rating goal of Gold. Trade Contractor will be required to recycle materials as required to meet the LEED(TM) certification goals and provide all records required for LEED certification at regular intervals
