Introduction and background: The Gila River Indian Community manages multiples low rental units in several Sub-Divisions located on the Gila River Indian Community funding provided by the U.S. Housing & Urban Development. The Gila River Indian Community Department of Community Housing engages in new constructions, renovations, provide housing services, modernization of new and existing units, engages in renewable energy sources such as solar window screens, energy efficient appliances, etc. The new duplex units will have many of those features such modern fixtures, energy appliances, shingle roof, solar windows and screens, R49 attic insulation, Aqua plex plumbing supply lines type A and others. Objective of this Project: The objective of this project is to provide better construction housing for members and non-members of the Gila River Indian Community. This would include new building code standards from Plumbing, Windows, HVAC system, Roofing and Wood framing. The current units in place built in the early 70's lack many safety issues from smoke detectors, insulation requirement, plumbing, structural issues with CMU, etc. It's the intent of the Gila River Indian Community Department of Community Housing to engage a license General Contractor to perform and complete the items specified in the Scope of Work.
