Reference Number 0000368113 The City of Hanford is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform the work listed in the Plans and Specifications for the Hanford Downtown Traffic and Pedestrian Improvement Project. The contractor will be responsible for implementing comprehensive upgrades aimed at enhancing traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and streetscape appeal within Hanford's downtown core. Specific tasks include demolition of existing pavement, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and landscaping as needed, followed by the installation of new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, stormwater drainage systems, and upgraded street structural sections. The contractor will also complete the replacement/rehabilitation and relocation of water and sewer lines, ensuring coordination with the City's utility teams to minimize service disruption. Additionally, the contractor will install decorative lighting, ADA-accessible ramps, street trees, and landscaping, and will manage the addition of new diagonal parking on Douty Street. Critical intersection modifications, such as bulb-outs and all-way stops, are to be installed at designated intersections to improve pedestrian safety. The contractor will be responsible for scheduling and sequencing work to allow continued access to local businesses and for coordinating with the City's construction management team to maintain project timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements, including public outreach support and adherence to nighttime work guidelines as required.
